Birth Name: Bjorn Nygaard

This guy were born to this world with a special natural talent for music, he have a talent to play all kinds of instruments. If you give him a old piece of wood and a few guitar strings, he will manage to get a guitar out of it , and sure he will play this homemade instrument, like a god !

Bobby started his musical career very early, he had the interests of playing instruments but he was not sure what he wanted to play. He was only 7 years old when he was almost forced by his parents to start taking lessons in playing classic piano. Bobby was not very happy with this, and his piano career ended up after only a short time. One year after, he got a Accordion as a present to his 8 th birthday, since Bobby was so good playing piano after a short lesson he received when he was 7, he played the Accordion almost every weekend when the family was together for dinners etc.

When he was 10 years old, he started to play trumpet in the school corps, he played only for a couple of years. When he was 13 years old he started a band together with some friends. Noone of them could play instruments, except Bobby who had “some experience” in playing piano and accordion. Bobby wanted to learn to play guitar, he started to learn, after a short time he could play and he learned the other ones how to play their instruments. After some time they all had learned to play, at least to play something ! They managed to play to small events as weddings, school parties etc. The band played music from "Shadows", "The Beatles" and stuff like that.

When Bobby was 17 y.o he played a period in a band with only 3 members. The band was put together of one guitarplayer (Bobby), one bass player and one to play the drums. They played instrumental music in the style of Janne Scaffer and more.

In 1989 he took lessons in playing Jazz music, his teacher was Paul Weeden (Count Basie). Bobby played in Paul Weedens Band “Laceys Five” from 1990 to 1993. The style were Jazz standards. In 1994 in Hamar, south part of Norway, he played in a trio put together of 3 guitar players , they played Eric Clapton and unplugged songs. Bobby managed to become a very good guitarplayer, and had many sleepless nights while he practised with his guitar.

Back to the North part of Norway, in Narvik (his hometown) he started to play in the band “Carsinoma in Citu” from 1998 -1999. The band played their own songs. He played a period with the band “No Limit”, they were playing songs from Joe Cocker, Sting and other cover material. Bobby collected many special guitars, signature models etc, and he got a special interests in different guitars. He also learned himself to play Bass guitar and he became a good bass player too. He also played in a band from Narvik that is called “Breeze” with the lead singer Tor Arne Ramstad in front. In this band he played bass guitar for a period.

Other bands in Norway he had played with is:

Rainer, from Fetsund, who played rock and pop music. He played with a band from Lørenskog called “SkyTrigger”, with a female singer and composer, Lydia Thomas in front. The band played their own music, rock and pop music. They recorded an album in 2006. He has also been a part of different musical projects in Narvik, events like “Rein 60”, “Beatles Apart”. Since 2006 he have played with a band in Narvik called “Baba Yaga”, who plays 70`s - 80`s inspired Rock, Funk, Blues and Jazz. In 2009 they released an cd album called “Bad idea”.

Bjorn was headhunted by B.Thomas and his band in September 2009 to play country music. Bjorn said yes to give it a try, the very first day he trained with the band,  he discovered that countrymusic was something he really wanted to play. He played for hours with the band. Everyone became impressed what he could do for the band. They agreed that this guy really had the skills to be the new electric guitarplayer and become a member in the band. Bjorn accepted the invitation to become a member. Since all the other members have their own artist names, Bjorn got the artist name Bobby King (he his the king of the pickers around his hometown) and is today the guitarist in “B.Thomas & Redneck Cowboys”.
